making a difference through grant programs
Michigan Conservation Districts rely on grants to fund our programs! Grants fund the bulk of our work, from invasive species removal, to culvert replacements, to habitat improvement - grant money from state and federal sources like the DNR and EGLE is essential to our work. Each year staff dedicates time to applying to new conservation grants in order to bring more conservation projects to the county. Our natural resource assessment survey helps us choose grant projects that are high priorities for the community.
